GAR ID HELP! gar or no gar?

i bought a fish at the lfs an it was labeled asian gar, i searched online an cant find anything about it i was told it would only grow to be about 12" im starting to think its a fake gar, i found these pics online the are the exact same fish but again he was told that it was a asian gar as well...

spotted gar and Florida gar are 2 different species of gar, they look pretty much the same! Florida spotted gar is just a name for Florida gar!

It is not likely you have a true spotted.
You'll need a 180 and up to house this species.
