Congrats!

Nice tank and filter set up! :headbang2 I like the idea of the 4 supports but question how are they connected? The weight on top of them is in the 1 ton area, which may sound like a lot, but realistically it isn't. I would be a little concerned about an accidental bump from the side and having the whole set up come crashing down due to a stability issue. Maybe you've thought of this and I'm just missing it in the pictures.

i agree, maybe it's just the concern of earth quakes from my California days or my wild kids that make me think you need to add some cross braces and or plywood nailed to the back of your supports. i know it's to late for putting something on the back, so maybe you could just nail or screw some plywood onto the two supports at each end. i'd screw the plywood to the 2X4's of both side supports. the way it looks to me, the supports look like dominos that could topple if there is a push from either end. just my opinion. if you connect the supports together it would be much harder to topple. even if it's just the two on each end to each other.

i like the creative sump, good idea and expandable if needed. i had the same problem with my filter socks, so i added a string and tie them in place now :)

congratulations bro! glad to see it up and running........ got to also say though, that stand worries me.... not enough lateral support....

btw, where did you get the bottom foam from? I will be needing a 8' by 24" very soon.

i found pink foam at Lowes, but i got this thicker white foam at HomeDepot, 6 bucks and i think it comes as an 8 x 4 so perfect for your tank, insulation aisle. yeah, i will add some lateral support to the sand soon in the form of shelves between the legs.
