Hey everyone! well I have been told before that the cohab i'm doing is very strange so I'd like to see some more :headbang2

I've got a 12 inch Oscar with a 11 - 12 inch Marbled Goby. They have their differences like every fish but nothing too serious, and thankfully not often. I had great success using dither fish, and now that they are gone aggression has increased slightly.. I'm just curious if anybody else has had success using dither fish to spread aggression? or am I just crazy :nilly:

Pictures would be awesome as well! I'd post mine but I have already shown it a bunch of times lol

Thanks

How bout two adult paratilapias in one tank ;). or 12" gar with 2" flowerhorn :)

Nice! how didn't the FH get mauled!?! 2'' compared to a 12'' Gar.. that's like my tiny 1 inch pleco growing up with the two beasts I mentioned in the OP. Epic!

Well most here know i have a rediculous mix in my tanks. fish come in all sizes and mixes that shouldnt work. i have a method to my madness though. :P i cant imagine anyone having a weirder mix.

I'm interested if you don't have some CIA code of secrecy or something xD sounds like you have had a lot of success, I would have never thought a 2'' fish could live around a big Gar lmao!

oh and besides the Oscar and Marbled Goby I have a Zig Zag Eel and a Purple Spotted Goby in my little 5 gal grow out. That one is pretty weird too LOL.

would malawi eyebiters count as unusual predators? I just made an update thread on my 5 juvies with pics

I actually saw that sometime this morning! I saw one of those at my local big als after I brought home the Oscar and Goby.. it was so cool and extremely colorful. about 6 - 7 inches. I asked about it's attitude and was told it needs to be kept alone.

I decided to leave it at the store.. the only thing I could think when I was told to keep it alone though was "okay I'd like to see him in my tank, it'd be a short show :) One night and it'd be over."

Very cool fish though, they have that unusual look that really interests me. How much do they usually cost though? I don't remember the price of the one at BA's but I could imagine it being a pricey fish...

I got mine from a big al's, but I'm in oakville there were 8 left, i got 6 but lost one the first night. the other 5 are doing well, as you can see in my thread. they weren't that expensive actually. 9 bucks each or 3 for 20. I got the biggest and a bunch of smaller ones hoping to get more females. working out so far. i got them at around 1.5-2 inches and my biggest is pushing 3.5-4 inches 2 months later. I've only seen one mature specimen on sale, which was before i got my bigger tank, which was 20 bucks for a 7-8 inch male.

I get eyebiters for like $5 for adults lol. i almost got bored of hvaing them. and yes they are predators they are sit stalk and atack fish. i dont see why they told u by themselves only. ivr had them with sa and ca full adults and they are pansies lol but do as i say not as i do. dont try this at home kids :)
