Silver dollars and s-american cichild

Would two silver dollars be compatable with some south american cichlids?

Yes there are many severums,geophagus, angelfish parrots to name a few. Really aggressive cichlids just stress them out and cause them to get ich.

Depends on the size of the tank and what you are keeping them with. In general terms yes they do get along, but the size of the tank and what you are keeping can help us give a better answer to that question.

I would not add anything further to that tank. If the two convicts are male/female then the others might not be in there much longer because they are very aggressive when they breed and they do that a lot.

Just alot of cichlids for a 55g. And sd's get large too.

Silver dollars should be kept with at least 3 or more. They are schooling fish. They feel more comfortable and are less skiddish in bigger groups. I personally keep 12 in a 450g tank with an oscar, severums, pleco, and a ghost knife.
