I'm interested in keeping a Fahaka puffer in a new tank I'm receiving in a couple of days the tank dimensions are 4x2x2 and I wanted to know if it would be ok to house one for life in the tank, I don't plan on adding any other fish other than a pleco just to help out with the algae.

I would say a 120G is normally the absolute min. requirement for housing one in for life... although from a purely personal standpoint, i wouldn't keep one in anything less than a 200G... but thats just me...

Also, you might want to forget the pleco... good chance your fahaka may pick on it... but other than that, i find my pleco causes more problems in the tank than it solves considering the amount of waste it produces...

I agree with all the above .... and plecos leave a string a poop everywere lol

I have a common pleco not too big only around 6 inches but still I couldn't imagine the difficulty of cleaning after one that's 12 inches

yea thats not too bad shipping is what kills ya and read the my fahaka isnt growing thread rider ordered one from there and another guy and it turns out there a midget type so u may get one that gets big or one that stays little i dont know the odds of getting small one every time but something to think about

I paid 20 for my small one 60 for the middle one and 120 for the big one check ur lfs for some maybe find a better deal

Oh another thing, be prepared to de-worm your puffer when you get it... seems most puffers come with some form of parasite unless the shops already done it for you...
