Let's talk Kelberi. These two have been a long road since there arrival I have tried everything I could UNTIL recently I finally got them to start eating from my hand. This is the first time in the three years I have owned them that they went top water. Oddly enough there diet has been strictly Feeders and they have had some LONG periods of no feeding. I would never let them die let's be clear I only starve to train. I really never starved any Cichla except these two. With that being said let me say this I have yet to see another Kelberi sp with such intense TRUE GOLD. I can't explain it you have to see it for yourself. They are as beautiful as they are stubbrun they are King of there 150g and still learning. Hope you enjoy at least a few of your Cichla like I do with these 2 it's been a fight with these 2 but I love em both. 
but there coming around slowely but getting it. I will give them what they want alway's I never understood why you would not offer live as well in there diet but I do understand the risk of disease and such. But none the less there in the best tank for me to train them since the Xingu are being trainned as well.
