Questions about rays and tanks

To do an outdoor pond you would need both lots of heaters and a powerful chiller. For rays you need to keep there water temp around 76-82 degrees year round. My advice would be to get out of california and build a pond indoors. Building in garages has worked well for me, just need to climate control the garage.

Question, would u move out of united states to get an Asian Arowana?

 probably just wouldn't get one. Do whatever you want, but if your planning on breaking the law its never a good idea to post about it on a public forum.

^^^agreed^^^

And I am sure F+W would just call up your ISP to get your address

I am not flaming you for keeping what you want to keep because put in your position I am not sure what I would do.

But I would advise you to use a little more discretion to protect not only yourself but the forum from legal trouble

Hello it's California they say smoking pot and pimping is illegal and everyone has rays in California

i'm sure only a few in cali keep freshwater rays, and are risking prison time to do so.
most in cali keep saltwater rays because they are legal.
government agencies DO keep a tab on this and other forums and have nailed users on this forum alone, it has happened. (for example the guy keeping an underaged shark. he had all of his equipment seized, paid a massive fine, has a criminal record and cannot keep any fish species anymore. they do check up on him to make sure he doesn't.)

are you willing to take that risk for a few fish? pretty stupid if you ask me.

I see the point of view u guys are coming from, but to be honest I think California has bigger problems that need worry about that someone owning a ray u get me and maybe when it come down to the time I'll back down and just stick to have a tank with a couple of arows but I won't know that until the time has come

you also have to realize, it's not just you in this debate.
if you and others are caught breaking laws concerning aquarium fish, the government can install new laws in your state, other states, the entire country even, disallowing the keeping of ornamental fish. you could be a piece of the puzzle that screws over everyone.
also, you blatantly disregarding the laws of your country in a public forum could be seen as the moderators/forum owner being complacent to law breaking within their own territory, and have this forum shut down and get them in trouble.

think before you act like that please. if you choose to do it, it's your own risk and your own fault if/when you get caught. don't publicize it and bring others into your misdeeds.
