Nice! I have a Tom Rapid Mini Canister. I was kind of surprised how powerful it is for such a little canister.
 
Thank you! The way I look at it, if I were to upsize the zoo med, I'm sure the flow would be comparable to a standard size canister. In any event it does what I am asking it to to do, which is exactly what one looks for in his fish equipment. :)
 
I have gone through 2 of the tom rapid mini canister filters. Neither lasted more then 2-3 months.
 
When I was looking for mini canisters, I was debating between the Zoo Med and Tom Rapid. I think the Tom Rapid is rated for a 20g, but I never think that the flow is strong enough when I look at those ratings. I actually tried putting this mini on a 2.5g, lol! Waaaay overboard on the current, lol! It's now on a 7g and it's still pretty strong. It's been running for 8 months now.

The Zoo Med is built very well, I have never owned Tom mini though..
