Has anyone seen this growing inside their filter before? It looks like a cross between kelp and corraline algae. I use my FX5 on a freshwater aquarium. It grows like a corraline algae, clinging to the sides. This stuff scrapes off easily, but is destroyed in the process. It has little bulbs along each branch which reminds me of the gas bulbs on kelp. It appears to be dark brown green. The light brown large round object in the pictures is a small ramshorn snail. Could this be a non light needing algae ?

I have the same thing on my inlet of my fx5 and it has grown to the glass... Stringy like. I clean it off when I do a water change. I don't know what it is either. It's like a vine when it grows.

Reread my post.

This is the problem with posting your font in white. To many, it looks like you only posted pics and can't see your typing.

If you change your style(bottom left of the page) to MFK "light" you'll understand.

I have a black background on my screen when I view MFK so white type shows up great. Is it different on other screens?
