new arow wont eat? Tank Mate fire eel?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the only worry you have is that the arrowana will grow much faster than the eel, I have kept both in a tank but my eel was 26" and my arrow 18" til it smashed through the lid trying to chase my cat who sits on the tank..

He may not be eating due to the nitrate level in the tank as even though they are small there is a lot of waste going into the tank as both fish eat high protien diets.
I would increase the water changes to every 2-3 days until you get the next tank. I wont lecture on tank size as you are well aware of the fish you have.
the only advice is i would buy the 300g and not waste the money on the 90.. just my opinion as i have done the same over the years..

They do take a time to settle but my arrow grew roughly 2" a month on a diet of lance fish and canivore pellets. he slowed down a bit at 16"

I agree

I have increased my water changes. And I saw him eat a blood worm. Just one but its a start.

As for the tank I needed a new tank anyway so I got reef ready tank for my kitchen. so the old one will be his home for a little bit till them pond is here

Edit damn you auto correct

Unfortunately I can get them bigger tank any sooner. I was not expecting one to be at them hole sale place. I could not pass one them price. its only been 2 days so I guess I will just keep tying new foods. And hope he eats something.
Both your fish will end up need 200+ tanks and from what I've heard Silvers have insane growth spurts when they are young hope you can get the new tank asap as for feeding I would try some small crickets or blood worms

I dose anyone read previous post.?

I understand how fast they grow!
But I can not get new tank any sooner than already stated.

a for cycleing I have already cycled filters so I dont see to much of a problem there.

Like I said I hate to hear all the nah sayers but My aro is growing great in the 55. At least a quarter inch in a week. I come to the tank and put the flake in he just swims around. Second time I come to the tank he gets in postion and knows it's feeding time. I got my little big guy a week ago last thursday

Thx and he is now eating brine shrimp and blood worms. Just got a cupon for 30 bucks off the pond so might get it next week. :) still getting the 90 gallon too. :)
