Semi intro and Oscar growth questions

IME, snails aren't affected by PraziPro, so you don't need to remove them.

Ok thanks. Ill make sure I double check the label as well.

For a beginner youre definately making a good start, most people wouldve got a fluval 305 and done waterchanges every week but for your single oscar you are definately giving him the best water quality.

I try. Most important thing that I have found is that its imperative to do research before doing anything in a hobby that requires this amount of work. It is work, but a rewarding work. The next best thing is to be a sponge, soak up all the information about it as possible and learn from others experience while you acquire your own. This has worked for me so far, whether its fish, cars, airplanes or whatever I am into.

Heres a pretty recent pic of the tank:

Sorry for such horrible quality pictures. He never stays still long enough to let me get a picture! Plus my camera is not the best :)

he looks really good! I love the black and red oscars. Heres a picture of my little one eyed oscar I'm growing out alone

Strato, your guy seems to have unusually long fins? It doesn't quite seem as a long finned O. But close!

I know I think either he is just a longer than normal finned variety, or hes a shorter version of long finned. He only cost me the same as a normal oscar. his fins have been ripped and he has lost an eye. but hes recovering in his own tank right now and even after 2 days his fins have already regenerated by 0.5cm which is pretty impressive.

Jclyde13 I had no idea that was your oscar! I viewed that thread the other day and thought Wow what a beautiful oscar. I definately have a soft spot for the red and black variety!
your guys could be brothers they are that similar.

Thanks, and yeah, my first two O's were both albinos, and I found them to be extraordinarily ugly once they got past the cute juvie stage (they had a lot of odd yellowish coloration with only a few red spots), so I decided to get a tiger this time.
