Looking to branch out from fish and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the availability is like in the Northern USA or Canada of any of the following.Edible or fat Dormouse, Wall Lizard, Asian Leopard Cat (purebred not Bengal). Kodkod, Clouded Leopard (would it fall under big cat legislation?),Stone Marten. Black Bellied Hamster,Dice Snake, Raccoon Dog, Dhole or Takin?

Most, if not all, of those are either regulated to some extent or rare/unavailable here in the United States.

I have wanted to try a couple of those things myself in the past but I really haven't looked into the availability too much at all. Definitely some were present in the trade a while back.I think Black Bellied Hamsters or European Hamsters are definitely available or at least one type of them (sold as Russian White). Wall Lizards used to be present in both USA and Canada from time to time/could be ordered in. I don't know about now though, they could be restricted in some places.Edible Dormouse (glis glis) is present in the pet trade overseas. Unless they are banned here or something it might be possible to order them, not sure of any specific people to go through though.Clouded Leopard would probably fall under big cats, which are banned in some places and permissible/restricted in others. Have heard of people in the states keeping Lions, Tigers, Pumas ect. but never Clouded Leopard, its been done overseas though. Asian Leopard cat is present in the pet trade overseas, no idea about here.Kodkod, not sure if that would fall under big cats or not they are pretty small, I have never heard of them being present in the pet trade, probably restrictions on them though.Stone Marten are present in the pet trade overseas and I think used to be here but I don't know about now.Raccoon Dogs have occasionally been kept overseas but would likely be hard and maybe illegal to bring in (http://www.wasbeerhonden.nl) have n... ordered in assuming its legal where you are.
