like the title says i need help my mom doesn't like eels. As far as she is concerned they are water snakes and she doen't like snakes. I would like to get some eels what can I do to get some. I have some peacock eels (got with out telling her first) and you NEVER see them. If i go ou and get something then she will make me take them back. what do I do. Oh and she is a first generation American her parents were both from Germany and she acts more like a German.

I say depends on the reason she its against them. if the only reason is because they look like snakes you might be out of luck.
You could try telling here you already have some, but then you have the risk that she will make you get ride of them

Try to get some of the more active and colorful eels, instead of most spiny eels...go saltwater and you can get some stunningly beautiful eels. A dragon moray is a stunning animal...and if the problem is the price tag, go with a modestly colored, yet active species like a black edge moray. Or go with a snowflake eel, which is compatible with a lot more things like that last two mentioned.
I dont think he meant any harm by it lol you cannot deny that people from all countries have certain characteristics though
The thing with eels is they will try to crawl in every little nook and cranny of the tank. Eels are very nocternal so you may only see them at night. But trying to convince your mom, It really depends how much she is against them. Sounds like you'll have a very hard time convincing her.
Do I state the obviouse? spiney eels aren't technically eels at all.. but Fish... just eel shaped fish... they don't have teeth... and other then looking vaguely like an eel... they are almost compleately unrelated.
I'm sure everyone knows spiney eels aren't true eels but still look like one my tyre track acted like one,fine my fav SALTWATER EEL IS THE DRAGON EEL my favFRESHWATER EEL IS THE FIRE EEL lol
Ok tell her this they are not water snakes you don't have to worry about them getting out of the tank and attacking ur cat/dog once it's out of the tank it'll die without water,it's a fish

Yeah need more background info on why mum doesnt like snakes / eels otherwise its a stab in the dark...
Like my g/f absolutely hates anything cold-blooded but she used to love mu fire eel
Heck, she even used to help hand feed my eel from time to time, but when i ask if i can buy a snake, she says she'll chop them into 18 pcs
