Got my new tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm still on the fence about acrylic vs glass. I'm going to follow this thread and see if you run into any issues. Any downsides you see so far?

If you can afford it, I would go acrylic. It's lighter and lasts a lifetime. The silicone on glass tanks lasts anywhere from 10-15 years on average. Just make sure you are getting thick enough acrylic so that it does not start bowing after several years of use.

you can get a glass tank tempered? explain..

Yeah they drilled the appropriate holes first on the back panel. Tempered the glass, then assembled the tank.

ah fishtankfactory, they are always posting ads on craigslist with good prices for huge tanks.

Very nice glad you finally got the tank can't wait to see it setup

Thanks, should be around another week till I move my current stock into it. Gotta add another layer of paint and get my friends together to push it to its correct spot haha. Ordered 2x 48" Led fixtures, can't wait to see how it'll look.
