Mel, they are all awesome :) I didn't know that you have Macracanthums, also. Wow !! I save all your videos and what them when I just want to see awesome cichlids/tanks, you have all of my favorites :) What size tank is your Ornatums in?

The Ornatums are in a 270 gallon tank that is 6 feet long by 3 feet wide by 2 feet high. I no longer have the Macs that was several years ago....

Mel, how can you tell male from female in the Ornatums?

Much like Festae, males have the spots/specks all over their bodies, while the females do not. Also females bar up quite easily when scared/aggressive/breeding, males in my experience do not bar up at all (which is different then male Festae's as you know)...........

Absolutly amazing...I cant wait for my pair to get that size! They are still small at 4 or so...how big are yours and how big were they when you got them? I so badly want to see them in there breeding dress!

Nice looking attros...this is the firsttime I see them and think I wouldnt mind having some. I never seemed to like them much but your vid was really nice. The ornatums are one of my favs now too after having a bunch.

I got them around July-August 2009. At the time they were very small and frail - about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in size. The pair are now pushing a foot each and very robust.

I too am a follower of your great videos and tanks...great work!!!! the comentary fits right in....
I hear Hollywood is looking for some film producers.......
I know the Ornatums are very robust and can handle their own with most fish but how would you rate the atros?
Would you say they are more like severums or oscars or equally robust like the ornatums....

Also Mel whtat do you feed them? I am interested to know also, do you think Atromaculatums aggressiveness is as equal to the Ornatums? Also what do you think about the Stalbergi (True Green Terrors)? Do you think they will be able live in the tank with Ornatums, Atros, and rest long term?
