he loves feeder, im just kind of afraid that theyll spread disease through out my tank. i fed them feeders before and he was having a blast chasing this one feeder and then he finally grabbed it and spit it back out to chase it again. haha

your right feeders will be risky.if you buy anything that will go in his tank it is best to quarantine them first.qt least 2 weeks,more would be better
Stay away from feeders. It's not worth the risk of introducing parasites to your tank. A quality pellet is the best staple diet. If you must use feeders, try raising your own under good conditions.
When or if i feed them feeders, i keep the feeders in a 20 gallon tank for about a week. They havent had feeders in about a month now. Theyre loving the Hikari cichlid gold though
Female JDs have a lot of blue pearls on their gill plate, giving them what is known as a Blue beard. Males will have far less on their gill plates.
