True aligator gars on aquascape?

Yeah, like I said, I'm very happy with the fish I've gotten from them in the past.

It wasn't that I was doubting them at all, I just personally know nothing that would allow me to differentiate between true aligator gars and others unless maybe the two were literally right next to each other in the tank.

I'm actually about to get on a train out to NJ to pick one up!
 
You're going to get a gator gar? It must be an amazing setup to keep a fish that easily grows 7'+. Pix of the setup?

I'm getting one at 3" and I've read you shouldn't put them in tanks that are too large because they can startle and accelerate too quickly and get spinal injuries on the glass. My plan is to start it in a 30g, then a 90, then a 220 until it is too large for that.

Planning on building a large basement enclosure in the next 2 years or so for the things that get too big for the 220 and eventually giving that tank to my solo fakaha. 8)

you forgot that a 7' gator gar usually over 30 years old, so it's not easy to keep a fish that long!
