Yes they do. And they get huge! I would not recommend them. I have the space and still wish I didn't get them. Bc now I basically have a 300 gallon tank with 2 cats lol I have had to pass up a few really nice fish bc of this

Ya, one of my friends had one and he bought him at 3 inches and 3 months later he was to big to keep in his 55 gal

Yup. We got ours about 1 1/2 years ago at about 2 inches. Now he is probably at least 24 inches

He had slowed down a bit when he hit 12-15 but when we put him.in the 300 he blew up

Ya well when most fish are in a smaller tank then recommended there growth rate slows way down so technically there sill growing but way slower, of course until you put them in tank size that they need.... Pretty crazy though

true, he was in a 180 before we moved him to the 300

are they really?? thats weird. i guess bc of the shipping. i got mine for about 20 bucks each. i used to have 3 but 1 found a way out of the tank and ended up under the stand and i didnt find him till it was too late :( he was actually bigger that the big one i have now. both were purchased at around 8-10 inches maybe 2 years ago. they all eat pellets like champs too :) looking into getting a tropical gar soon
