When I lived in a coastal village, my iguana had the run of the apartment. Initially it wasn't a problem but as she started to put on weight and become more adventurous her climbing created problems for certain aquatic pets. Occasionally I'd return from work to find certain fish at the point of asphyxiation - the iguana had managed to pull the air pipe out of their aquarium. She also managed to unplug filters etc. I've no idea how that happened - maybe she had an accomplice. Another reptile was a Chameleon who used to enjoy sitting on the top of certain aquariums. Unfortunately it also had the bad habit of using one of them as a toilet.
Now the iguana has her own room which she shares with a couple of crayfish and some tropical fish.

Damn Chameleon! Thats one reason for having to do a water change.
