New Guy! Albino Praying Mantids

Sweet find! I found an albino mantid a while back, creepiest of all the mantids I've kept especially with the pink eyes. I tried breeding him, I've bred mantids before, but he died molting before I could try
always cool when you find albinos. I wish I could get an albino millipede! That would be cool

Do albinos tend to randomly pop up from time to time? I have 53 oothecas at the moment (and more to collect still) which is why I'm asking.
They do blend in with the color of the environment they are in. I found some brown ones in a dry grass field before. Hopefully after it gets older and it will keep the lighter color. It is one of the more interesting insects along with the walking sticks.
I know this is old but woulda been cool if he even bred it to a normal. I woulda bought an ooth if he could ship.
I like albinos. I have found an albino cricket before, to bad I squished it lol.
The one thing I dislike about albinos though is that it can weaken there vision and in animals that require a lot of UVB it can be even further detrimental to there health
Are you collecting them from the wild? Its possible that you could get a few albinos if the color mutation exists in the area. The parents would have had to been heterozygous for albino though(assuming its a recessive trait).
