Update on the tanks in my house. Enjoy!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thank you. And I feel that way about loads of tanks I see on here. I was very happy to get to see jeffs (aclockworkorange) tanks. They were very nice. I was filled with envy when I saw those 3D backgrounds. So I will be working on getting a few now.

Everything looks great Anthony. With all the Central/South American Cichlid nuts coming out of the woodwork around Puget Sound perhaps it is time to
take another stab at a locale club? I started one about 3 years ago but it never really got off the ground. I spoke with Kevin (co-owner A place for Pets) today
on that very subject. He is interested and I know Calvin, Darren, Shawn and others would be into it. I am going to Japan for a couple weeks. When I get back
let's see what people think and maybe take another run at it.....

I only have 3 tanks 125g,55g,30g and i have my hands full. I feel like i don't get enough time to see all my fish. All your tanks look great. How much time a week do you spend with upkeep?

Nice video Anthony. I like how your trying to keep everything locale correct  I LOVE the wood in that 180 gallon! Where did you get it and how to I get my hands on it???

@ Mel.. I'm not coming out of the wood works.. I'm just finally getting more active on the forums. I have been here in tacoma keeping fish for about 13 years. Thank you for the praise and a local club would be awesome. I was just up at kevins a few weeks back, we had some fun moving stuff around and what not. He still owes me a trip to your place. He has my number, we text back and forth all the time. So if you can't get me here or wafishbox, he can always get ahold of me. Let me know bud, and thanks again.

@ Smokey... I spend about 8 hours a week on tank maintnance. I do 50% w/c in all my tanks 2 times a week and the 150 (isletas, nic), and 110 (lago izabal) get a 50% every other day. I clean out my filters 1 time a month. So I am cleaning about 2 a week when I alternate filters. The 5 tanks you saw are 5 of 8 I have a few grow out tanks as well. And I will be setting up that 125 in a month or so. I expect with the addition of the new tank my maintnance will increase by approx. 45 minutes. And yes sometimes I feel like I don't have much time to "enjoy" them, but I relized I enjoy taking care of them. I am very much a home body, being outside gives me mild anxiety. So I have loads of time each day. Its funny, because how can I be a father of 3, with one on the way, a husband, employee, bird, dog and cat companion. I don't know how I do it. Its what is important to me. So my life revolves around it. Family, fish, pets, more fish and more family. That's my life in a nut shell.

(sorry for the derail Anthony) but Mel I would also love to come up for this. I know a couple other members here in the lower WA state that would also likely carpool up north with me.

Why doesn't long island have this kind of forum activity? Maybe I'm crazy, btw the tanks looks great and the Isletas are beautiful

Jk47, thanks man. I am a local nut, like Jeff. Biotope is the way I go.

Belly, thanks man. And you know how to get this kind of activity???? Move to washington. Its the best state in the us anyway. But shhhh, that's washingtons secret. "It rains here all the time".. that's what we tell people.
