Ok I am getting some of these bad bays around 2 or 3 inches in size I am getting around 6 supposely 4 females and 2 male. My questions is should I put one male and one female in a tank each and put the remaining four in my 180 or should I just put them all in the 180

I'll bite since no one has responded. You can try all of them together while young, as they mature you will have all out war w/ the males who will want to claim a HUGE territory. Females are aggressive too, so down the road you may have one fish to a tank, so that would mean you would need 6 tanks. If you do get a pair remove all other fish from the tank they are murders when breeding. Fasciatus shows very little sexual dimorphism especially when young. Are you sure they are going to be fasciatus as they are pretty rare in the hobby, much more common available in the hobby is H. elongatus? Hope this helps. :nilly:

I have had all three species of five spot so I know the difference

I currently have 1 3" H.Fasciatus in a 75g. He rules the whole tank. 2, 3" dovii's, 1 4-5" Red Devil. Never seen any fish as aggressive as this. Have 2 others in a 50g, had to move them, they almost died. I would take pics but i don't have a good camera.

Very aggressive. Forgot to mention, he's killed 1 3" jag, 1 of the dovii's now. Red Devil is holding his own. Currently has about 8" of the aquarium. They flare at each other all the time but nothing happens until the Devil gets outside of his 8". When that happens, all you see is Fasciatus fly accross the tank then then beat the devil until he goes back to his 8". Pretty crazy.
