^ The red faced one is a ZZ fader, the other one is a ZZ flowerhorn. Their offspring will be ZZ, some will probably fade as well. It'll be a mixed batch.

RIP 3/24. I did a water change earlier today, and he was fine. We went to the neighbors house for bbq tonight and just got back. I went to feed them and he didn't come up like normal. I couldn't find him in the tank, and right away checked under it and he was laying on the floor dead. He never had issues jumping, he would tap the glass but never tried the plastic inserts in back by the filter, but that's where he had to have gotten out, he was right under the back of the tank. It must have happened awhile ago, he was dry on top already, so I never would have been back in time, it wasn't a 5 minute thing where I could have saved him and he would be alive still thing. His last photo from 3/10.

Thanks Chris.

After rethinking how things were when we came home, I think he may have jumped trying to get a moth that was on the wall behind the tanks. I saw it when I came home right away, but never thought much about it until now.

I think what's worse is having the tank sitting here empty, the blue one was always next to me in the livingroom. I pulled the syn/kamfa hybrid out of quarantine and put him in the tank. I hope he will do ok, I know it wasn't disease or water conditions, and he was going to be put in the tank I was given last week tomorrow after I finish the stand.

Still cr@ppy.

I'm so sorry for your loss hun.:cry:
He was such a cutie...

I remember when I went to get my RT/FH from Petsmart that both of the ones I picked tried to jump out of the container they where put in while bagging them. They are very active & they are strong jumpers.
Again... I'm sorry for you loss.
