I am pleased with how my 75 has turned out. current stock is 5 d. compressiceps and 3 c. moori, largest comp is 4.5 inches, largest moori is approx 2 inches and king of the tank, so far little chasing but no torn fins or perpetual hiders. all eating well and growing.

I need one or 2 more cichlid species to make it complete IMO. The LFS nearby has some good deals and interesting cichlids. I was wondering 1-3 of the following being added to the tank

1 Nimbochromis livingstonii at 2.5 inches

2 exochochromis currently 1.5 inches, to be grown out in a 30 before entering the 75

a breeding pair of adult aulonocara species, either eureka red, sunburst, or another type.

a couple tropheops dubosi

a couple calvus cichlids

also might add a synodontis

I would probably do the livingstonii, exochromis, or synodontis. The syno would just be different from everything else in the tank and give you action in the bottom of the tank.

one way or another they'll all be gone in about a year when I go to university, My bio teacher has a 75 african tank and will accept the dolphins and possibly one or 2 of the comps and I'm going to sell the others here on MFK if I have no luck with homing the others. The tank currently is very open aside from a pair of rock spires I made to hide the heater and most of the filter intake with sand over crushed coral for substrate. most (90%) of the little aggression i've seen is inter species and no one has been too damaged aside from a small hap i got 1.5 months ago, which was eaten by the dominant comp.

If your tank was larger I would suggest some Fossochromis rostratus. Absolutely gorgeous fish, even the females despite being 'plain'. Absolutely love mine.

If not go with the synodontis. They provide that extra bit of activity, and are easy to get rid of when you move. :)
