No. Its stuck to the rocks. I finally got up the nerve to touch it and it feels kind of rough and carpet-y. The detritus is different. That I can tell from the the fuzzy stuff. Different feel and color.

Its white but thick and carpety like your red stuff. Wiggles said it was bad if it took over so I've been trying to get rid of it. I have a pic in the op. Its by the shrimp. I know the red stuff I have is good. I am wondering now if it will fill out like the stuff you posted given the right conditions? My primary question now is if there is anything that will eat the white stuff. I'm losing the battle by myself.

kelly this is a new tank right? its diatoms or lyngbya. diatoms can clump into strands and look like your describing. regardless it will go away on it's own. don't drive yourself crazy trying to remove it :D

Its not a new tank. I got it from Sbuse, he'd had it for awhile before I got it and was fighting the fuzz himself. I guess I just think its odd that it keeps popping up all over. Its driving me crazy, but doesn't seem to be spreading, at least, the spots I can see aren't getting any bigger. And I've just noticed last night that I've got a spot of something. I'm wondering if its aiptasia. I haven't gotten a good pic of it yet but here's a go at a description.

It kind of looks like an anenome but instead of the long tentacl-ey arms, it has tiny clear balls that expand and contract when it opens and closes. I can only assume the balls are attached to some sort of arm or something, but they are too fine to be seen. It so far seems to be primarily nocturnal, as the only times I've seen it fully opened is when I turn the lights on in the morning. It is tiny. Like no bigger than the yellow smiley in your post. When open, it expands to twice that size, staying in a rough circle shape. Its red/orange on the outside ring and clear white in the middle when open. When it closes, it is red/orange and pokes up, like a closed flower sitting on a rock. It doesn't seem to be on a leg or foot or whatever its called, but rather stuck to the rock...I guess like a snail would be - Its not raised up, its just stuck there. I have no clue what it is and an aiptasia search on google didn't yield anything that looked remotely like it, though that rarely means anything. I'll try to get a pic when I get home and post it. Any ideas would be awesome, thanks!
