Need to address the humidity issue. Previous owner knew nothing/did nothing about it. Here in Colorado it is dry. Going to suggest using a misting bottle for now until more is learned about the subject.
Make sure to feed the snake in a different tank/cage not it's house. My snakes have large rubbermaid feeding tubs. Also never hold the food item in your hand to feed, use feeding tongs.

You can feed it in its cage provided that you go into its cage on days other than feeding day and if you use F/T prey. I use tongs for my snakes that need to be tease-fed; I stick the warmed up prey item in a small plastic cup for the ones that will feed without any extra effort on my part.
