I have a fenestratum piebald morph said to have come from jeff raps so its wild or F1-2 probably. It is white with black eyes and yellow markings.

He just threw up some white gunk... Ill try to get a pic... So what should I do/
I have been feeding him emerald entree, algae pellets, goldfish flake (because of high veggie content)
and frozen brine shrimp.

Is this the correct thing to be feeding him? could this be why he is throwing up?

I dont know what else to do besides change the water... any thoughts?

Thanks alot..
He is still a baby in a 29 with one blood parrot female.

Any help would be great thanks

Sorry to hear about your baby.
Do you have a quarantine tank you can move her into?
If not a WC is a good idea like you said.

Its his own tank... ill probably take the bp out but he is chasing her around and displaying to her still which i think must mean he is not feeling too bad... I mite leave the bp in though just so he has something to do. I'll probably do a few water changes over the next few days i was just wondering if anyone has any idea about what could be wrong with him. Am i feeding him the right food?

I had a hartwegi and he ate the same kind of stuff... 75% veggie and 25% meat based on crustaceons and stuff. Is this what a fenestratum needs?

sounds like the slime coat too me, had this happen once awile ago, it wont kill but needs attention and good diet plus 3 tblspn salt w/ ur setup, no carbon and change water ina day or 2. Params would help greatly!

Take F1 VET 's advice. This is new to me. But I would still do the WC over the next few days.
I hope your baby comes out of this O.k..

Fish don't cough up their slime coat .........

What size is this fish, and what does the "white gunk" look like? Also, is he currently having any difficulty eating?

he is about three inches... still a baby. It just looked like his stomach contents... like a big glob of chewed food and stuff. I have since moved him to an 80 gallon with my syn mixes. Should I be feeding them plants?

He hasn't thrown up since... so now I'm thinking he was just a little queazy
