feeding stingray convicts?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There is no need to feed live fish, it is now illegal in the uk and I agree with that. You can feed pellets, frozen fish, worms, frozen cockle, mussel etc... No need to go to the time, expense and stress on the feeders.

I think the law passed last year, it was well publicised in pfk mag. It is illegal to put predator and prey in the same environment, there was a guy in Scotland who was heir to the b&q fortune and he tried to create. 1000's of acres of park land with wolves but as the park would contain fences it meant predator (wolves) were in with deer (prey) and therefore he was stopped....bit extreme maybe?

To the OP, yes it would be safe to feed convicts although any live animal can inflict damage on another. It certainly would not be safe for the convicts lol.

Feeding live causes you more hassle as the rays will get used to the live feed only and then when you supply runs out you may struggle to feed them, get them used to frozen and you can feed a more varied and safely supplied diet without the stress of live fish being killed in your front room.
