well, most people agree that 16'' is ok for an oscar, the minimum is 14" i keep my oscar in a tank thats 14" wide and i get flamed for it, but if you take one look at him you'll see that he's happy an
perfectly healthy and an excellent eater. but you'll probabaly get flamed for it anyway. my advice is just ignore the people who think that your tank is too small. i have seen healthy happy os in 55 gallon tanks, i have a 55 and i get flamed for it, my oscar's awesome and happy.

well, it depends on what kind of fish that you want, you could also try one of these: a black wolf fish, botia loaches, some species of piranha, a flowerhorn, some species of polypterus.

Pictus cats will get 6 inches pretty quick, and then they grow slower until they hit about 8 inches. I found keeping at least two together works better, they like company, and they argue like an old married couple sometimes but not violent or anything, just some fin shakes and tail slaps over sleeping spots. They are really more active in the late evening and early morning, good for watching if you are up early. I never had an issue with oscars and pictus.

Avoid getting a common pleco, they will love the 100 gallons and quickly grow into 20 inches of grey blob on the bottom of your tank causing a huge amount of waste too. A nice bristlenose pleco would be good or a rubbernose or clown pleco.
