I finally found the red barred pair i was looking for and i also picked up a female for my creamsickle male which ive been growing out. the barred male is about 8-9" and femle is 6.5" the creamsickle male is 6-6.5" and so is the female. Im excited:) i love these guys and finally can enjoy my midas craving;) Thank you Darren for these brutes:)
I cant wait for these pairs to fill out and settle in and then spawn!!very active so far.

LOL yeah maybe just a lil bit;) Im glad i finally got some pairs. Im looking forward to the monster swarms of midas fry to come:)
 
I've always been a huge amphilophus fan but never have really cared for any of the barred ones other then chancho's. Your colored male looks very nice though. You will find they spawn like clockwork and do have some huge spawns. They make great feeders though:).

Thank you for the comment. As for the barred goes, ive seen them in spawning so i know they will look better once they settle in. but i can see where your coming from as originally i was too excited about the barred either untill i saw pics of them with nice reds on their faces. plus they will breed a mix of barred and colored. As for my colored male, i have some pretty good expectations for him.watching him grow and change color and the hump he put on early made me pretty excited. I am very interested to see how he turns out, plus the possibilities of what the fry will look like too:) And yes some will become feeders and others dithers for my festae.

Thank you:) I do remember that guy;) I do have a few more that look pretty similar to this one. I am ready to over run with Midas and festae now. Spawn baby, spawn;)
