Hey MFKers, So I came home to my 150gallon leaking. The drop is about a drop per second.. I can't exactly pin point where it is, but it is located on the bottom seam. Lost about 20gallons ish in about 5 hours.

Anyway, I was wondering.. Would I be fine just stripping say the seal that has the problems and resealing it? I am in a time bind because I have a few of my monster fish in a 46 gallon and they aren't being too friendly with each other in there. Or would I be better off removing all the silicone and starting over?

I would personally redo the whole tank. Be very careful and do your research because if you don't do it right the first time it could end up worse.

I have resealed this tank before. I just think I did some small errors when I smoothed the silicone bead when I first resealed it. This is the second time its leaked, the first time it was pretty bad.

Yeah I would definitely redo it. You can find some guides on youtube to help you along. Also remember to be generous with the silicone, its better to have too much then a leaky tank.

Yeah I wasn't generous enough lol. I have a good idea on how to reseal tanks. I resealed my friends 20gallon and it's lasted about 11months now with no leaks. Then again, 20 gallons is a lot less than 150 lol.
