Vittatus ATF River Monsters Episode

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I like the shows but c'mon he always comes in like he has no clue what fish it could be when he knows exactly what it is but I guess they have to make it somewhat interesting. The amount of commercials is ridiculous though!

the whole time i was thinking the same thing.. only until about 70% into the show you actually see the fish he's after.

Haha. I am watching the episode right now actually (love this show) and I was thinking that the fish he was searching for was prolly an african tiger fish of some kind but then I remembered they already did en episode on them. Logged onto mfk and what do you know? thanks for spoiling it!

ps
the gatf episode is awesome

I have never seen anyone attempt to keep these fish in a shoal But I am sure after this episode many will try. It was a very exciting episode however it sounded like these fish are usually a solo species and only come together once a year.

I have got an aquarium room and after seeing/hearing about H. vittatus schooling behavior I may have a go at a species tank with a school of H. vittatus.

Yeah, my thought was we don't see the actual fish until 80% through the show....

Just because they congregate when they feed doesn't mean they're pack hunters. When mine are not feeding they spread out all over the tank and sometimes quarrel. But when it's feeding time they school together and take turns hitting the food. I'm not convinced they're "pack hunters". I think they're attracted to the commotion when the catfish go after the bait fish.

Can't wait until mine gets bigger. I would have had 6 VATFs if my Aro didn't eat two of them.:irked:. They're separated now in their own tank.

You guys are so lucky to have the 4th season already, here in Germany we're at the 2nd, and the one on bullsharks was shown twice already :/

holy ****, those were some expensive feeders lol first time hearing an aro eating ATFs

Yeah, it took me two to realize they're still small enough to fit in the Aro's mouth.... Curiously it only happened after I fed the Aro tilapia chunks. When I fed it sticks it didn't bother other fish. But once it got the taste of fish flesh I guess it wanted more.

Man I hate this show!!!! Why did they make an episode on my top 3 species?

1- Vittatus
2- Vittatus
3- Vittatus
4- P14
5- Armatus
6- Leichardti
7- etc...

I really need to shake back n look for a Vittatus again!

River monsters is probably my favorite show. Besides man vs wild. I actually just emailed Jeremy the other day for some florida bull shark advice. I knew exactly what the fish was when I saw it jump out of the water, I was thinking it had to be something of that sort when I saw the teeth.

I dont care what anyone says, Jeremy Wade is one of my top role models and one hell of a angler.

is jeremy running out of river monsters? he redoes some fish featured in previous episodes and ventured into ocean one time. nice fishes by the way on this 2nd episode, saw a mormyrid, some sort of big catfish and also an odoe! :D
