Thought it was piebald at first. The black is part of the fading process, its normal to see on fish that are in the process of fading.

It has lots of Red Devil in it, with small percentage of something else, for Red Devil, the unfade part is greyish, instead of black. My be the OP can tell us what it is?

Actually no I depends on the surrounding, in a lighter tank its grayish and in dark tank like the one in the picture its black. Moods can also effect this.

If its a hybrid its kind of pointless. There are much nicer pure midas out there.

Moods only change the density of stress bars, not the black markings.
