At what size can a silver be fed whole shrimp with shell?

No head and tail, of course :). I read somewhere that it benefits the aro if you include the shell. My aro is one year old but not sure about the size. I'm guessing 17-18 in. Varied diet right now he can easily swallow a 2.5" smelt stuffed w/ pellets and de-shelled shrimp. Is the shrimp thing true? Can he digest the shell? Thanks.

Yes i have also read some articles about feeding aros shrimp with shell on. i have fed my 26 inch aro some shrimp with shell on but i saw no changes and this was a while ago and hes perfectly fine.
 
your aro is more then big enough to handle shrimp with shell on. You can buy shrimp in different sizes also.
