I got a pretty good deal on Acrylic tank the other day from CL. It's 6X2X2 acrylic tank for $50. Pretty decent shape but the only catch is the previous owner super glued 2 dividers onto the tank. I would like to remove it w/o scratching or breaking the hole tank. Has anyone ever done this before or any idea how to remove it w/o breaking it? Any help I would really appreciate it.

Acetone will turn the plexi glass foggy white! Do not use it!

I would cut the bulk of the dividers out with a saw then slowly and carefully grind the remaining edges away. Once the dividers are gone you are going to be left with scratched lines on the inside of the tank. You will have to polish these out with increasingly finer grits of sand paper until they disappear.

Has to be cut out. That's the only way. Then sand Polish.

Put a piece of thin cardboard on the inside of the aquarium. Use this thin piece of cardboard to keep the saw blade from touching the aquarium side. Put the blade of the saw flush on the cardboard and slice into the partition. Be careful at the corners of the aquarium so you don't accidentally slice into the adjacent aquarium wall. This should leave a minimal amount of partition that you will need to grind / sand off.

I agree with jerome. Carefully cut the divider out being careful not to cut into the aquarium panels at all. Sand what's left down to the panel level, then progressively finer sand paper, then polish with Novus.
