Well....you did not list where your location is but in my town there is a thriving population of snakeheads and there are people who capture them on the rod and reel. There are also certain officials who hide in the brush. They come out when they see someone land a snakehead and if the fish is not killed on site,or, appears to be set up for live transport from the catch location then they have, and will enforce existing laws with fines, forfeiture and whatever else they have at their disposal,it's been done already....and nope, there are no signs in this area.
Well let's see I was just across the bridge this past weekend a bit south of Camden searching for the snake head infestation, I would have dispatched a good size one or three if I came across them but not so with smaller ones. I had a few kids with me and dispatching fish that were going to eat I have no problem with, but to teach children to kill stuff just for the sake of killing it. Especially if there NO posted order to do so. Then the fish is going back in the water, period!
And if some city, county or other law enforcement personnel jumped out of the bushes and wants to arrest me, oh yeah!, instant job security, aka police/law enforcement lottery with a better than 50 percent chance of placing in the tax free green. Or they just wanna fine me that's a few bucks that's fine. I get to contest that in front of an elected official and if need be the children and the media.
