great news, thank you..
i just set a 20g tank for the motoro...going to med her again.
just put 5oz of bloodworms and 6 ghost shrimp..
Just what I was waiting for so I could jump on the bandwagon! LOL. Just another person not setup properly to care for stingrays. The main tank is too small and definitely the quarantine tank is too small.Surprised no one has commented on this. A ray in a 20 gallon tank!!?? Feeding 5oz of bloodworms and 6 ghost shrimp and then wondering why the ray is floating at the top of the tank?? Doesn't take rocket science to figure that one out! It's not parasites killing that ray - just sheer stupidity!
+1. Should have treated in the main tank as it will not harm anything else in the tank and prazi comes concentrated so you can treat big aquariums. Moving the ray around just stresses it more and a cramped tank does it no good either, especially if it is a new setup(not cycled properly)....water quality, etc. Feed something like earthworms that can stay on the bottom so they don't sucked up in the filter like blood worms. I would try to spot feed it and that way you will know how much it's eating.I'm also worried about the way bubbles are staying in tact at the surface. 20 gallons of water cannot support the biological load of a motoro, and using the prazi is only going to make things worse on the ability of bacteria to break down the waste.
Treat it in a larger volume of water, and you'll get better results.
