Has anyone ever had a blenny just up and disappear out of nowhere? I don't have anything exciting in my tank that could eat her but I did rearrange the rock on Sat. But my mom swears up and down that she saw the little thing Sat night. I haven't been home since Sat afternoon and when I got home today, I fed my fish. All of them ate voraciously so I'm assuming that is a good sign that she wasn't eaten, dead or alive...When I realized she hadn't come out to prance in front of the glass like she normally does when I tap on it, I moved all the rock expecting her to be either cornered or smashed. Neither was the case. I'm just stumped...Where could she have gone?

Believe me when they don't want to been seen you won't see them.I've had one or two do that to me,tore the tank apart looking never saw them till a week later when they wanted to come out.

under the sand, in a rock, anywhere, I wouldn't recomend looking to hard, as you mite injure the fish in the process. Though just to be safe, did you check your filters?

There are grate-like things over the ends of the filter-sucker things. (terribly technical...sorry) I didn't think I had to worry about that. I've got a surface skimmer on one of the filters but I can't even get my fingers in there, is that a concern?

probably not, but no harm in looking, unless its a raging pain in the butt to take apart.

I checked last night. Not there. Its comforting to know this happens though, lol. Thanks for the Info! Why do you suppose she's hiding? She's never been picked on and she eats well enough...

Could have jumped out.

Could have jumped out.

Is that a blenny's style though? Don't they just hang out on the bottom of the tank and play in the LR? Besides, I have glass covers on the tank. I thought of that but it doesn't seem reasonable. Neither does the cats getting her, for similar reasons. I guess all I can do is wait for her to show up...

Thanks for the help and advice, guys!

Pretty much any fish will jump if they feel confined, and if it did you will never find evidence since you have cats lol.
