I've opted to keep the somewhat every 10" 4x4 placement since my sump/reserve tank below will need the added support to be able to hold the extra water incase of power outage etc. Also definitely have a house drain close by but was hoping water changes were going to be closer to a monthly/bimonthly basis due to larger amount of water, which in my head is more dilution.
Although since i will be using the 12' rows as my sump/reserve tank i was wondering if i could just add more filtration below have an entire 12' row be mechanical, another 12' chemical (carbon), and another 12' row of biological, as this will allow for plenty of room/time for the water to be filtered. Or is this just an over kill ?
Regardless i feel the same way about metal which is why you only see wood.
