Holy over constructed Batman! Wow. Where's the sump going to go? Oh, your going to serpentine the sump through all that lumber? Cool! At least your still in the drawing stage and we can talk you out of some of this ;)
Edit: I didn't realize this was SW, I'm going to stop commenting on filtration. I know nothing about SW filtration.

lol ya looks like a crazy maze but unless some one completely advises against it, i am going to stick with this route for now and sort out filtration. ALL wood will be coated prior to install and again once installed, as well as all edges with fiberglass/resin.


edit: here i highlight what i plan my reservoir to be idk if it is any clearer for any of you but regardless.

There is a site online for monster saltwater tanks. Cant remember the site but I will look for it. There is a guy who posted his own mixture to make large batches of saltwater mix for a lot cheaper than store bought. He has been using it for a long time with no issues.
 
i was doing around 10lbs per gallon of water, somewhat including sand + live rocks/coral in tank lets say roughly ~1800gallon tank so lets say 18,000 lbs why not round up and make it 20,000lbs to be on the safe side.

It's actually 8 lbs per gallon but rather be safe then sorry so I would just call it 10

So your sump incorporates all of the posts? It just doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I was picturing something like a separate box that sits in between the posts. It looks like you've got three separate boxes that run in between the posts. Do they meet somewhere? Are you going to have to cut little pieces to go in between the posts for the floor of the sump?

Where are your pumps going to sit?

Are you going to increase the amount of lip on the lower edge of the glass to contain the pressure?

Correct my sump will incorporate all of the post, and the none of the boxes are separate they all have an overflow to the next chamber to allow to set up the substrates that will be used for filtration. Posted a picture below to help with explaining. One pump will sit at the entrance end just pushing water forward to begin the cycle, other will be at end of the sump pumping water back into the aquarium. For the posts they will be covered with plywood and sealed. Yes lower lip will be 2x2 creating a frame around as i did on the top, just wrapping around the tank, i should change it in the sketch.

Wow, that's one elaborate set up. Not sure you need the pusher pump. You can let gravity do that work. Besides if the two pumps don't match flow exactly you'll either drain your sump or overflow it.

So with that design you'll have to build the sump as you build the stand. Imagine trying to work around all those posts. How do you plan on attaching each piece of the sump? You won't be able to get a drill in there. Even if you prebuilt each section and join them together you'll still have to climb in and around the posts. I don't see how you can do it. Also your build will need to be flawless because if you get one little leak it will be next to impossible to find and repair.

Lol definitely something i have been taking into account. The stand would be build in two parts with first being the actual Frames, then the sump. Then the first coat of resin/fiberglass and cover edges/where ever two pieces of wood touch. Then Another coat of Resin, followed by yet another coat, and again more times till you have 5 solid layers of resin. This is somewhat my specialty as I have plenty of hours under both Carbon Fiber/Carbon Kevlar and fiber glass work. Next will be what im still debating on to use either the pond paint every one uses prior to pond paint, currently having a blank slate word not coming to mind with whats used underneath the paint for the bottom layers to prevent moisture from penetrating. Then testing the reservoir before proceeding with building the tank. For the Pusher pump i was going to use a very small pump. It was used to power a little fountain i accidentally knocked over and broke, but pump still works flow rate is very minimal lets say at most, being plenty generous, 30gph. But yes this is why i am going through such meticulous planing before so all i truly have to do is build it according to plans :giggle: always harder than imagined.


edit: forgot to mention about bondo, which should be obvious but bondo all screws etc. prior to sealing with resin/fiberglass
 
So if you have a smaller pusher pump and a bigger suction pump your sump will be dry all the time.... or very low. Unless you throttle back the suction pump then it would defeat the purpose of the pusher pump. Not to mention how much air the suction pump would be pulling and cavitating like mad. It just doesn't seem like it would work. But if you can get it to work then more power to you.

With 1900 gallons how much turnover are you planning? You would need some massive pumps. I have only 680g and I have two 3600gph pumps running in parallel.
