Sorry but your just wrong.... a motoro could easily fit in that tank for life

Sorry but your wrong if you think a 48" wide tank is a good size for a full grown motoro female. I did not say one could not fit or would not survive in that tank for life, just that its not a very good life with so little room to move. I have kept a 24"+ motoro female in a 6'x10' pond and saw first hand how cramped even that was for her.

Wow, I thought 4ft wide was considered to be great. Do marbles get that big?

a 4 foot wide tank IS fine... some people are just never satisfied with how big a tank needs to be

We clearly have different standards for the proper care of rays. I believe in giving rays plenty of room to maneuver and swim, as you can clearly see by the ponds I have built and the large rays I have cared for. I stand by my original statement, in a 48" wide tank a fully grown female motoro can survive but will have very little space, if you think keeping a ray like that is "fine" then so be it.

Well I know other will work it's big and it's actually a little over the original dimension I stated but not much. Lol. I do agree that some people always think a tank needs to be larger. I bet most ray keepers on here have smaller tanks Forster. As they say get the biggest you can and then get one bigger well I have purchased two tanks doing just that. I can't go larger for a good amount of time. I would bet a full grow female could live for life in those dimension most important will be fresh water and good filtering as always. Thanks for everyone's advice very much. Not time to finish some sheetrock and build the stand and get rolling :D
