how close to top can a glass tank be drilled?

Hey guys, about to drill my glass 180, but wanted to know how close I can drill it off of the black trim on the top...

If its not tempered and u have a glass drill bit u can go about 1/2" but go slow and becareful!

as above, 1/2 inch should give you plenty of room.

When I had my 135 drilled by All-Glass (I ordered it with four holes from the factory) they wouldn't drill it less than 4" from the ends or 3" from the top. They said it was to reduce the chance of the glass breaking under the stress of the water pressure.

i did my 225. i left room around the edges of about the same width as the drill bit i used.
