I currently work at a pet shop (petco, of all places) and I feel like everyday I hear some thing that sounds so ridiculous that it leaves me speechless. Either by coworkers or by customers. I've decided to start posting them (and I'm not even talking about the people that ask how many goldfish they can add to their fish bowl... Or the number of times I hear NEMO!!! I'm talking about ridiculous stuff

This guy at lee's aquarium told me that the bichirs can surivive out of the water for 2months lol. well When i had a delhezi and a senegal they both jumped out and the next morning they were dead lol. The "nemo" thing is very common lol.

1 today I was trying to help this nice couple figure out what's wrong with their fish, cuz it used to swim around a lot, really fast and all different directions (skiddishly) and now it just mopes in a corner for the last week. I asked if it eats and they said no they've even put food so it lands on him and he doesn't move. So I said as a joke, did you check if it's dead, and they said no, it's eyes are open, although it has grown some white fuzz on its. Tail and fins... I was dumbfounded, they thought there was no way it was dead because it's eyes were wide open...

Yeah NEMO is yelled out at least 15 times a day, and I forgot to say, feel free to add your own stories, I'm sure there's some doozies out there....

Or "one inch of fish per gallon". So that means if you had 10 neon tetras in a ten gallon tank that would be overstocked? and I guess that means you could also put a 10 inch Oscar in a ten gallon tank aswell lol.

Lordy god wow... >_>

Lessee now, own experiences.

'This fish can live in [insert-extremely-underestimated-dimensions]' is one that I most commonly encounter.

Hence my favourite question to ask is to point at a random large cichlid and ask 'can this thrive happily in a 2ft tank'. If the answer is 'yes', I leave. Immediately.

The best was "me and my fish were talking yesterday, and he decided that he doesnt want to live in the water anymore. Do you have something for that?"
She was dead serious. Ahhh Santa Cruz.
Or, "why yes, this pacu is quite vicious"
