Okay I'm going to be building a 400+ gallon aquarium. A plywood tank. For materials to build I have readily available a ton of wood. So plywood and 2x4's aren't an issue. I need cost of EVERYTHING except wood and electric bill. The tank will be 94" long by 36" wide by 30" tall. The glass will be half inch regular plate glass. On glasscages.com the cost of this would be roughly $160. But the glass would be 90" long by 28" high. Any place for cheaper glass? Thanks ahead of time.

going 24 tall instead of 30 would save you money, and ya might want to up the thickness of glass if you plan for 30 high. check glass thickness charts

I did a rough estimate of what I spent on mine, of course every tank cost breakdown will be different due to varying prices in different regions of the country but at least it'll help give a very rough estimate.

glasscages charges an additional fee for delivery. They quoted me an extra $80 for me to pick it up at one of their delivery sights. I ended up buying it locally for $149 with tax for a piece 94"x24"x1/2".The pond armor was the most expensive part. I bought it off ebay for $75 with free shipping per kit x 3. If I build another one I think I'm going to use a pvc pond liner. I think I spent around $20 on dap silicone. My inside tank dimensions are 94.5"x36"widex28"tall.

94" is same as mine. I'm gonna probably get a 24" piece of glass as well. 30" glass almost doubles in price! I'll get a 24" tall piece.
