Ignore these idiots Jack_man. You are doing the right thing. These guys are a fine example of people who shouldn't own fish. They are not in it because they like fish, rather in it to impress people. It is the same few people always in threads trying to argue with people. I wish they had lives. I don't know why they do it, i guess it gives them a false sense of power.

Quote of the year! Pyramid you NAILED IT!

I hear what y'all are saying. Def gonna do the daily water changes and remove all the gravel tonight. Hopefully that helps.

I have a 65 gallon tank that just for the Oscar when he gets bigger and better.

I will try and take a video tonight for yall to see.

Good for you then I hope he makes it since too many people would think he would be fine in a community tank.

How much longer are you gonna make that poor fish suffer? It's not like a human being who can still contribute to the benefit of the world despite physical infirmity. It's an animal, and when you decided to take charge of its well-being, that was for better and worse.

^As above. To be honest there is nothing inherently wrong with either side, generally speaking.

Sometimes it's better to euthanize the fish. Sometimes it's better to try and save it. All depends on the specific case, imo. Obviously if the fish is too far gone then yeah, by all means euthanize it. If it seems like it can be saved, then save it. If it's a grey area, then more consideration must be taken.

It's just wrong when someone simply goes 'ew that fish is disabled kill it' without even thinking about whether it can survive or not and how much it can recover or anything of the sort. Conversely, it's wrong imo to just go 'omg no save it' even when say, there's nothing left but a freaking head.

If it is just a head it is not gonna live. If only a tail is missing, no vital organs damaged, there is a good chance it WILL live. So I don't see the use in killing it. But for some people they care too much about what others might think and can't take the criticism. They can't have an injured or deformed fish cause they are all about having show tanks/show fish and need to impress others. For other people a fish is a pet and whether it is deformed or injured or the wrong color makes no different.

The Oscar seems like it will pull through. Post updates in a future thread as I'm curious on the progress of this little guy. As for this one...too many insults and clean ups. I would like to have kept it open, but I find myself cleaning up 3 days in a row since people can't play nice.
