im sure there's a correct way to use them without causing harm if they are already in use in the breeding community.

they are in use with the mass breeders to make their fish more appealing so that selling them by the bucket load to pet stores is easier. There is no concern for the health of these fish, only if they are nice enough for some idiot to buy so that it is not their problem.

I know i'm a bit off track here but if you want healthy and fast growing fish I recommend plenty of water changes, a variety of quality foods, and a clean environment. The easy way out is not always the best option.

IMO the best "fish steriods" are liquid vitamin drops on food. Yay for healthy fish!

Anything, That alters the natural course, Has some affect
