Lol I'm not trying to steer you wrong. You bought its as a Petsmart Red Texas, from what I have seen all the Petsmart Red Texas are all actually Kamfa Flowerhorn.
Kamfa Flowerhorn originally were Flowerhorn that were crossed with Vieja or Parrots that had a Vieja look to them. As Flowerhorn changed over time its no longer that simpler. But the the Classic Kamfa strain retains that original Kamfa look. They start out looking very Vieja looking and as they grow look more like Flowerhorn. The Petsmart Kamfa being sold as Red Texas is essentially a variation of the Classic Kamfa.
The pearling, color intensity, nuchal hump growth as well as facial and body structure will vary fry to fry.

Lol. Give him time my friend, he'll get there. I got mine at 2" and he was Mr peaceful. He's now around 3 1/4" and has to be moved because he's tearing his tankmates up no matter what I do.

Lol thats your sole reasoning as to why I'm wrong? Cichlids have their own personality as I'm sure you know, give it time it will take take over the tank.

Segrest is only sending Petsmart the one kind of fish to Petsmart, yours isn't magically different than all the others. I know your not a hybrid person like me, but I don't know how else to explain it better to get you to understand what you have. I don't know....
Anyways its a nice little fish and if you decide to grow it out it will look much better in a month or so after it settle.
