I rearranged all of my tanks today so there were some interesting changes in a couple of my fish tanks. The most impressive to me was the change in my Aequidens Diadema. When I first got them the male was not a fan of the female. He learned to tolerate her until tonight when I see him flaring and showing off for her. She seemed pretty receptive to me. The male's color looks great when he's showing off. Unfortunately my camera does not take the best pictures/video. Since I had the camera out I figured I'd take some pictures of some of the other fish also.

Here is a picture of the male diadema.

And a not so great video of the two. Sorry for the link.

They can be a bit nasty at times...like most acaras. Not psycho killers...but assertive.

I have mine in a 180g with big G. altifrons. I've also kept them with sevs. They can hold their own.

Nice. Always wanted to try A. diadema. What's their temperament like?

The male I have can be pretty aggressive with the female but doesn't bother any of the other fish in the tank.

I was hoping you'd see this! It should be interesting to see what he does when he's in your 180 :)

one day i will work with this fish. it's peaked my interest for quite some time. how large do they get?

I'm not completely sure. I think they get 10-12" They really are cool fish. These two were very shy at first and the female still can be shy at times.

I love acaras. I wish I had some space for diadema or metae. Your male looks awesome!

Thank you :)

Nice collection. Diadema can get pretty big, not tank busters but good size. They remind me of oversized A. Patricki.
