if you want to go planted, some hardy plants are java ferns, java moss, anubias, pennywort, swords... and there's a lot more.

Go with 4 or 5 roseline sharks. They are very active and will not bother the plants. They are slow growers but as I said very active and nice and colorful with the red stripe and black and yellow on the tail.
If you want aggressive fish i would go with a rainbow wolf fish. They are super fun and would look nice in a planted tank! Another idea is 3-4 exodons super fun and vary entertaining
