Hey guys, just wanted to share some of my experiences with loaches and ask you to do the same. A couple days ago, I bought three Burmese botias and I LOVE them. Even owning them just a couple days, they seem to get excited when I walk to the tank. And do anybody else's loaches click? Because when I feed my loaches, they make a very audible clicking sound (which I read they would do with their teeth. I just didn't believe it) and it surprises me I can hear it so well from a 1.5" loach in a 75 gallon tank. They also seem to try to play with other fish in the tank! They (try to) push my angels when they are just standing still (and I don't worry because they aren't sucking anything off if them) and sometimes they even lay on my pleco's back for a ride. Best little creatures ever! Anybody else with funny loach experiences like this please tell us!

I just turned my 75 to a loach tank and have 5 burmese, 3 dwarfs "sids", 2 zippers. I'm getting 10 - 20 more loachs to the tank to include some more sids, zippers, queens and zebras. I love the tank and the movement of the tank is great. I also have 6 red tail botias in my 220 because they are a lot more aggressive. Here is a little video:

I like rare fish to. I ignored clown loaches in pet stores all the time for 20 years of fishkeeping because they are so common. But once i took a chance on a group of 5 to 6inchers, i never looked back. I've had big cats, syno cats of many types, big exotic plecos, etc (for bottom dwellers) nothing compares (IMO) to a group of mature clown loaches for visual entertainment. I got a couple 11inchers that act like the parents of the group.

My new 6inch oddball clown aquisition i think has A.D.D, he swims up & down the glass all day long (non-stop). Now he's got 4or5 others that copy him. It makes me dizzy sometimes watching them. lol
